Well, those dates aren’t strictly correct. While the final, WordPress-powered incarnation of NowUC was indeed launched in 2010, the publication has actually been around since 2003. Unfortunately, the pre-WordPress website is lost to the winds of time except for snapshots preserved by the Wayback Machine. Check out that fresh, Web1.0 design.

And here’s what the relaunched, WordPress-powered version of NowUC looked like in 2010.

In the nearly 11 years since that relaunch, journalism and sports media students published over 2,300 articles! That’s a lot of Monster Energy-fuelled, end-of-semester all-nighters.
So, without further ado, let’s dive into Google Analytics and count down the top ten NowUC stories from the past decade, based on the number of page views.

You served us well, NowUC, but it’s time to go quietly into retirement. The Owl is the new home of the journalism and sports media programs at UC and we can’t wait to see what our students publish. Onwards!
