- New laws have come into effect in the ACT allowing women to access abortions up to 16 weeks for free. Advocates in the women’s reproductive rights field, who have been instrumental in supporting the initiative say it will improve the health and wellbeing of all women in the ACT.
- Have you ever thought about going on a volunteer trip overseas? Maybe your school, university or church has advertised a fun getaway that would give you the chance to see the world while giving back to those in need. However, many of these trips are not what they seem, and in some cases well-meaning people end up doing more harm than good.
- A school in North Canberra has installed vape detectors in response to the widespread use of vapes. Despite being illegal, vapes are accessible and are mostly bought through black markets. Vapes have many known health consequences, although the long-term effects are still unknown.
