New laws have come into effect in the ACT allowing women to access abortions up to 16 weeks for free. Advocates in the women’s reproductive rights field, who have been instrumental in supporting the initiative say it will improve the health and wellbeing of all women in the ACT.

A school in North Canberra has installed vape detectors in response to the widespread use of vapes. Despite being illegal, vapes are accessible and are mostly bought through black markets. Vapes have many known health consequences, although the long-term effects are still unknown.
