Is the NRL doing enough to protect players from concussion?

In 2012, former American Football players sued the NFL after neglected concussions led to the players suffering long term brain damage.

Since then, sports across the world have increased the protection of their players to try to avoid brain injuries and its long term effects. 

In Australia, the NRL has become much more aware of the effect concussions can have on their players, particularly as they get older. 

However, in 2020, the NRL introduced the six again rule and at the same time there has been a dramatic increase in concussions.

So, is this new rule to blame for the increase of brain injuries or are there other factors?
