While at the Bathurst 1000 on the pod’s recent road trip, Anthony and Zac followed the progress of a young Canberra talent. That driver was Walkinshaw Andretti United’s Zach Bates.
Zach is cousin to Harry and Lewis Bates who drive for Toyota in the Australian Rally Championship, as well as nephew of Australian Rally legend, Neal Bates. But instead of joining his cousins on the dirt, Bates has taken up driving four wheels on tarmac, something he did very well at the 2023 Bathurst 1000 in Super 2.
Zach and Zac braved the rain for a quick chat.
